Focus on golf course maintenance: a look back at the 2025 spring conferences

Created by Selina May

A successful start to the season with exciting insights and practical topics.

From mid-March to the beginning of April 2025, several exciting spring conferences on golf course maintenance, technology and club work took place once again. We took the opportunity to find out about current developments, take away innovative approaches and exchange ideas with colleagues.

Spring conference of the Greenkeeper North Association - March 17, 2025, Golf-Club Peine-Edemissen e.V.
The focus was on practical topics such as the application technology of plant protection sprayers - an area that is currently in particular focus. This was followed by a tour of the course with an exhibition of machinery, during which modern technology and solutions for everyday maintenance were presented.

Spring conference of the Baden-Württemberg Greenkeeper Association (BWGKV) - March 18, 2025, GC Bad Rappenau
The main theme of the conference was “Woody plants on the golf course”. Specialist presentations and a joint tour of the course focused on the care and preservation of large trees and fruit trees. The successful combination of theory and practice was convincing - practical, clear and directly applicable.

GMVD Regional Group WEST - March 31, 2025, Bonn
The GMVD Regional Group West's spring seminar in Bonn focused on current and future-relevant technologies. At Telekom's Customer Experience Center, we gained practical insights into topics such as New Work, modern forms of collaboration, Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, 5G infrastructure, AR/VR applications and digital customer experiences. The exchange on the strategic potential of these technologies for the working world of tomorrow was particularly valuable - inspiring, well-founded and with clear relevance for our industry.

Greenkeeper Verband Bayern e.V. - April 1, 2025, near Landshut
Everything here revolved around turf - from laying on golf courses and soccer pitches to fertilization, production and harvesting. The visit to Isar Rollrasen and the illustrative practical part with the use of machinery were particularly interesting.

A big thank you to all the organizers - especially to the Greenkeeper Nord Verband e.V., the Baden-Württemberg Greenkeeper Association (BWGKV), the Golf Management Verband Deutschland e.V. (Regionalkreis West) and the Greenkeeper Verband Bayern e.V.

Special thanks also go to Ralf Ahrens and the Golf-Club Peine-Edemissen e.V.

We are already looking forward to the upcoming conferences and further professional exchanges in the 2025 season.
