GVD Annual Conference 2024

This year's annual conference in Bayreuth was held under the motto "Strategies in the face of climate change: challenges and opportunities for sustainable turf care", an event that brought together industry experts, practitioners and interested parties from the field of turf care. The topic of climate change and its impact on golf courses and sports facilities was at the heart of the discussions, with a particular focus on the opportunities arising from these challenges. The event was able to attract renowned speakers from the worlds of business, education and practice, whose presentations offered valuable insights into future challenges and possible solutions. Participants were invited to get actively involved with their own contributions, which led to lively and informative discussions. In addition to the presentations, the workshops were a core component of the conference, some of which were held in a new format this year. 

Our partners presented new developments and discussed important topics in the field of greenkeeping. Another highlight of the event was the presentation of our new marketing concept by the recently strengthened marketing team. The hard work paid off: An exciting competition challenged participants and the winners were extremely pleased with their prizes. Special mention should also be made of our lightboxes, which stood out from the crowd with their unusual messages and attracted attention. During the breaks, the stands of our partners offered the opportunity for exchange and expert discussions, which are the most important asset of such an event. We look back on informative and inspiring days in Bayreuth and look forward to putting the insights and impulses from the conference into practice. Dear TURF-Community,

will we meet in Bayreuth? 

The Greenkeeper Verband Deutschland e.V. invites us to its 32nd annual conference in Bayreuth and TURF will of course be on site. From February 20 - 22, everything will revolve around strategies in the face of climate change. We will be talking with other experts about the challenges and opportunities for sustainable turf care. 

The program again promises a lot of variety. In addition to the exciting workshops and best practice presentations, there will once again be a trade exhibition. We not only bring alongspecialist knowledge, but also a great estimation game with attractive prizes. So it's doubly worth passing by!

We are looking forward to meeting industry colleagues again and are very excited to hear the speakers' thoughts on the main theme. We at TURF are also dealing a lot with climate change and its effects on lawn care. This is a topic that will be of increasing concern to us in the coming years. 

We will of course be happy to share the most important insights from the event with our community. Stay tuned!
