LoRAIN Soil weather station + soil sensor

LoRAIN Soil enhances the benefits of the LoRain weather station with the measurement results of the soil sensor, meaning even more precise measured data for location-based weather forecasts. The following is measured:

• Air temperature
• Humidity
• Rain fall
• Soil temperature
• Soil moisture
• Soil suction tension

It is powered by integrated battery. The measured data is transmitted to FieldClimateTurfVIEW in the Cloud or to the users’ mobile phones every 15 minutes. The data is therefore constantly available and can react quickly to changes. The station is quick and easy to install. Its compact form and attractive design do not interfere with the visual impact of a golf course at all. The device is supplied with NB-IoT (“Narrowband-InternetofThings”) and is "Plug & Play". Communication is via an integrated SIM card. The soil sensor is delivered with a 5 metre cable for convenient positioning.

The measured values gained serve as the data basis for planning watering and for calculating peak and working windows. With several stations, individual evapotranspiration values for fairways can be calculated and time, money and water can be saved through adjusted watering.

Using the optional “Weather forecast” module, particularly precise predictions can be calculated for the weather station location. The weather data from the provider Meteoblu and the measured data from the station itself serve as the data basis for these forecasts. These forecasts allow very precise recommendations for ideal fertiliser timings before rain.
